Public input is needed on how to improve Sarnia's Chris Hadfield Airport.
Assistant City Solicitor Daniel Byskal says Sarnia, the chamber of commerce, and Sarnia Lambton Economic Partnership, are examining how to best serve stakeholders and customers.
"We're trying to figure out how to make the highest and best use of the airport," says Byskal. "It could be improving the commercial sector in terms of air travel, it could be helping out the general aviation community and people who have personal planes, it could be finding key partnerships with other members within Lambton County."
The general public will be able to leave comments at the Smart Sarnia website beginning August 1.
The city will host a Business After 5 event with the chamber of commerce on August 15 at Hangar 2 to get business input on the Airport Master Plan.
The $5,200 cost will come from the city's Major Event Assistance Fund.
Sarnia is the airport landlord while Scottsdale Aviation is in charge of day-to-day operations.
It's revenue neutral for the municipality.
