Sarnia's police chief says he's not going to cast blame following a CN train derailment at the Indian Rd. overpass Thursday.
Nine rail cars tipped over just before the noon hour, but the company never called 911.
A CVECO alert wasn't issued until well after the incident occurred. A firefighter was notified after getting a call on his cell phone.
Chief Norm Hansen says they're going to meet with the company and emergency officials to improve future communication.
"Nothing has been set yet, but certainly there should be a meeting between CN, Sarnia Fire, ourselves, and anybody that was involved," says Hansen. "My attitude with these things is that if there were any errors made, and I'm not saying there were, but if there were then you learn from it and don't repeat them."
In an email to Blackburn News, Public Affairs spokesman Patrick Waldron says there were no leaks or spills and there was no threat to the public or the environment as a result of the incident.
