Real Estate Sales Remain Hot

Sarnia-Lambton Real Estate sales remained hot during the month of June.

Real Estate Board President Steve Park says historically sales cool off a bit heading into summer, but they broke the $60-million mark for the third time ever.

A total of 208 properties worth just over $64-million sold in June.

"Our listings are up by more than 10%, which is very encouraging," says Park. "Last month we had 224 new listings. So, I'm very encouraged in the fact that it's easing the listing to sales ratio just a little bit, providing more choice for buyers."

Bungalows are the most popular style of home with 71 being sold last month.

Park says most are selling in the $200,000 price range which indicates a healthy market.

Three homes over $1-million sold in June pushing the average sale price so far this year to $309,000.
