There will be a new overall champ at Ribfest this year.
Sarnia Kinsmen Club spokesman Jack Struck says there will be six ribbers this year, but Smokin' Joes is taking some time off.
"We have ribbers from London, Orillia, Burlington, Chatham and the Toronto area," says Struck. "But there will be a new overall champ because Smokin' Joes is taking a rest this year."
16 bands will take to the stage Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with gates opening each day at 12pm.
"We were asked for more music. People love Centennial Park and the ribbers are happy to have four days. We also have inflatables for the kids and younger adults and other vendors" says Struck.
Donations will be accepted at the gate and there will be a $5 cover charge after 6pm.
Proceeds will help fund Kinsmen Club projects such as the Santa Claus and Canada Parades, the Salvation Army and Inn of the Good Shepherd.
