The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has announced Venture Grant funding for three local programs. The 1st Hussars Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps of Lambton County gets $15,000, Wellness & Emotional Support (WES) for Youth Online receives $30,000, and the John Howard Society, Adult Life Skills Coaching and Mentoring program gets $30,000. WES for Youth Online is a free counselling platform where youth aged 13 to 24 can chat about anything, anytime, anywhere. The John Howard Society's third-year grant is to provide life skills coaching and mentoring to 20 adult clients who self-refer to the program. United Way Venture Grant funding is available on a year-round basis for new and innovative programs that address goals under three identified impact areas.
