Over 2,000 elementary students were dazzled by police cars, fire trucks and military vehicles at Emergency Preparedness Day in Sarnia on Friday.
Around 100 displays were featured at Clearwater Arena, highlighting tips on how to prepare for emergencies and showing some of the equipment first responders use when they are called out to an incident.
Community Awareness Emergency Response GM Dean Edwardson says it's always a worthwhile event.
"A lot of credit has to go to our volunteers for conducting this day," says Edwardson. "We've done it for the past number of years and have had a lot of uptake from the students attending."
The 13th annual event was held in conjunction with National Emergency Preparedness Week.
Families are encouraged to assemble a 72-hour supply kit to make sure they're ready in the event of an emergency.
Sarnia's event is believed to be one of the largest displays in the country.
