The Canadian Cancer Society hopes sunshine and warmer temperatures this weekend will help boost daffodil pin sales.
Community Fundraising Specialist Paula McKinlay says the storm that brought ice, heavy rain, wind and snow to Sarnia-Lambton this past weekend, also wreaked havoc on their campaign.
"Our volunteers are hitting the streets again this weekend," says McKinlay. "It wasn't necessarily a scheduled weekend, but due to the weather we've been having, this past weekend we had to cancel some shifts."
She says volunteers will be visible from Thursday to Sunday at numerous stores including the LCBO and Valu-Mart.
The month-long campaign generally raises $20,000 locally, which is directed toward essential services and research.
Meantime, McKinlay says Sarnia's 2018 Daffodil Dip that was scheduled to be held at the Sarnia Riding Club this Saturday, has been cancelled.
She says they didn't have enough participants willing to battle the frigid Lake Huron temperatures this year.
