Alleged Suspended Driver Flees Police

A Watford man is facing several charges after being stopped by Lambton OPP for having an expired licence plate sticker.

Police attempted to pull over a Ford F-150 pick up on Huron St. in Watford around 2:30pm last Thursday, but the driver refused to stop. The vehicle stopped in a driveway and the driver took exception to police following him.

Additional investigation revealed the driver was suspended from driving.

A 40-year-old Watford man is now charged with driving with no validated plates, driving with a suspended licence, fleeing from police and resisting arrest. He will appear at the Sarnia Courthouse on May 14 to answer to the charges.
