Environment Canada reported late Sunday morning that an icy mix of precipitation was expected to continue into the afternoon before changing to straight rain as temperatures begin to rise. Rainfall warnings were issued for southwestern Ontario.

Emergency crews were responding to numerous crashes on ice-glazed area roads including highways 401, 402 and 403 but no serious injuries had been reported.
