Two Impaired Drivers In 24 Hours At Bridge

Lambton OPP arrested two alleged impaired drivers in less than 24 hours at the Blue Water Bridge.

The first happened at around 1:30am Wednesday, and the second at about 9:30pm.

The OPP say Canada Border Services Agency officers believed the American drivers crossing into Canada were under the influence and they subsequently failed roadside breath tests.

Further breath samples taken at the Point Edward OPP Detachment showed both drivers were over the legal limit, one more than two times.

A 49-year-old man from Marysville, Michigan and a 27-year-old Port Huron, Michigan man are charged.

Both drivers were released and sent back to Michigan.
