A celebration of Indigenous culture was on full display Thursday afternoon at Lambton College.
Hundreds of students, community members and people from all different backgrounds gathered in the gymnasium for the school's 26th annual Pow Wow.
Indigenous student success coordinator Sean Hoogterp says the roughly 170 elementary and high school students that attended now know a lot more about First Nation culture.

"The next time they either encounter an Indigenous person in their community or see one on television or in a movie, they'll have a different understanding than the historic way Native people are portrayed," says Hoogterp. "For Indigenous people, the event is an opportunity to share our culture. We always make sure the Pow Wows are opened to all and we encourage other people to attend because that's the way we learn about one another."
The event featured dancing, traditional food, intertribal songs and prizes for audience participation.
