Suspension Deadline Approaching

About 450 elementary and secondary students in Sarnia-Lambton have until the end of the day on Monday to update their immunization records or face suspension.

Lambton Public Health Supervisor Erin Courtney says children with outdated records will be suspended from school as of Tuesday, March 27.

"Parents can call their health care provider and be immunized there, they can also come to Lambton Public Health and either report their missing records or be vaccinated," says Courtney.

Last year 346 elementary and secondary students were suspended due to out-of-date records.

All children, 18 years and younger, require vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, mumps, rubella, measles, meningitis, whooping cough and chicken pox.

Students who still need a vaccination can visit Lambton Public Health in Point Edward before 4:30pm Monday.
