Residential Development In Watford

The first sizeable residential development in some time in the Watford area is underway.

Warwick Township Mayor Todd Case says 11 lots are on the market on a private cul-de-sac in the northwest corner of the town near the arena.

He says Warwick Township purchased the land, to be called Scenic Court Subdivision, and has divided it into lots of 7,500 to 10,000 sq ft.

"Council has been proactive in pursuing residential development in the Watford area and is making it happen," says Case. "Council is hoping to both retain existing residents who are not looking elsewhere to build new homes and also attract new residents to our tight-knit community."

The lots will be sold through a tendering process with the highest bid above the reserve price for each lot accepted.

The deadline is March 26th at 12pm. The reserve price ranges from $44,000 to $60,000.

The town is also pursuing partnerships with potential developers for other residential zoned property.
