Kathy Alexander is hoping to run for the NDP in Sarnia-Lambton in the June 7 provincial election. The Bluewater Health Foundation Executive Director is seeking the riding nomination. Alexander says she's always had a very strong interest in politics and public service. "This leads back to my high school days and visiting Queen's Park and visiting Ottawa and Washington and going on these incredible trips as a teenager," says Alexander. "It's an opportunity to be a part of something that would not only influence change here in our community but in our province. The more and more I thought about it, it just felt like the right time and the perfect time to get engaged, be involved and do something that will make a difference." The 41-year-old mother of two moved to Sarnia 13 years ago from Hamilton. She's been the hospital foundation's executive director for over six years. A nomination meeting date for the local NDP has not yet been set.
