Crews will be busy with infrastructure improvements across Plympton-Wyoming this year.
Mayor Lonny Napper says they have some exciting projects planned.
"Downtown we are improving the crossing light at Niagara Street, it's been a concern for quite some time," says Napper. "We have a parking lot behind Foodland, we are making some improvements there to spruce that up."
He says they put some more money in reserves for a future new firetruck and will be buying a new backhoe this year.
Plympton-Wyoming council has set a $12-million dollar operating budget, with a $3-million capital budget for 2018, that will have residents see their taxes increase 0.9%.
The increase amounts to an extra $5 for every $100,000 of residential assessment.
In the meantime, Warwick Township has set a 2018 budget amounting to $8.7-million.
The budget implements a 2.5% tax increase or $9.66 per $100,000 of assessment on the municipal portion of the property tax bill.
Administrator/Clerk Amanda Gubbles says over $2-million will be spent on capital projects, including the reconstruction of Simcoe St. and applying tar and chip to Birnam Line.
The public works department will also get a new tandem truck, pickup and sidewalk plow.
