There's been a jump in the number of confirmed flu cases locally. Lambton Public Health says there's been an additional 20 in the last week with 42 confirmed cases now. Supervisor Erin Courtney says there's one long term care home dealing with an influenza outbreak at this time. Courtney says so far it's been a typical flu season and majority of the cases have been sub-typed as the H3 strain. Last season there were 90 confirmed cases and seven flu-related deaths locally. Courtney says the flu shot is still available at 31 area pharmacies and through health care providers.
