Sting Acquire Wolves Captain Michael Pezzetta

The Sarnia Sting continue to make moves ahead of Wednesday's OHL trade deadline.

The Sting have acquired 19-year-old Michael Pezzetta from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for prospect Ethan Lavallee, a second round pick in 2019, another 2nd in 2023, and a conditional fourth round pick in 2019.

Pezzetta has 90 points in 214 games during his OHL career with Sudbury, including 31 points in 35 games this season.

Sarnia General Manager Nick Sinclair says the addition adds leadership and experience to the team.

"Michael is the ultimate competitor who plays with grit, tenacity and has a unique presence on and off the ice that will be invaluable to our current group," he says.

The Toronto native was a sixth round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2016.

The forward is expected to join the team on Thursday night in Windsor alongside fellow newcomers Jonathan Ang and Cam Dineen.
