Sarnia police are warning residents about scammers trying to take them to the cleaners. Police say people are being called on the phone by someone claiming to represent Rainbow Carpet Cleaning. They tell the homeowner they're coming out to clean their carpets and duct work. Police say Rainbow Carpet Cleaning is a legitimate company in Sarnia but they never solicit business in that way. It's uncertain exactly what the scam is about but police urge residents not to give out any personal information. Anyone receiving such a call is advised to just hang-up. Police say it's a common type of fraud, similar to the Canada Revenue Agency phone scams.
