Environment Canada lifted the snow squall warning for Sarnia-Lambton just before 2pm Friday.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says 10 cm to 15 cm (4 in to 6 in) of snow is likely in some locations by Friday afternoon.
"There is that possibility because certainly the winds do continue to keep lining up more out of the north and the northwest as they were overnight last night, and with the chance those winds come right out of the north there's that opportunity that parts of the city of Sarnia itself could get some of these accumulations," says Coulson.
He says the winds are expected to diminish late Friday afternoon into the evening.
"It does look like the winds will progressively start to drop off as we go through the afternoon hours and probably become light by late Friday afternoon still coming out of the north," says Coulson. "As we get into the late afternoon or early evening there could still be some flurries around, but they'll start to diminish in intensity."
He says it's also unseasonably cold for this time of year.
Normal daytime highs should be about 8 C (46 F). Coulson says we're going to struggle to reach -1 C (30 F) Friday with the northerly winds making it that much colder.
