Talks in the three week long strike at Ontario college's are to resume Thursday.
The College Employer Council has asked the provincially appointed mediator, to bring the colleges and OPSEU back to the bargaining table November 2.
In a news release, Chair of the College's Bargaining Team Sonia Del Missier says the strike has gone on for too long.
"We need to end the strike and get our students and faculty back in the classroom," says Del Missier.
OPSEU Local 125 Vice President Lisa Bicum hopes the College Employers Council is serious about good faith bargaining.
"We're hopeful that they want to bargain in earnest and they want to seriously negotiate because what has happened so far has not been proper negotiation, it's been stonewalling," says Bicum. "It was a horrible offer just dangled in front of us so yes, we do hope it's a serious attempt to negotiate."
More than 500,000 students have been affected since about 12,000 faculty and staff at Ontario's 24 colleges, including Lambton, went on strike on October 16.
Meanwhile, a student advocacy group is holding a rally Wednesday at Queen's Park.
