Drugs, Knife Seized From Vehicle

A Sarnia man is facing a long list of charges after a brief car chase with city police.

Around 8:45am Saturday, police were called to the area of Kember Dr. and Willa Dr. regarding a possibly intoxicated man trying to enter a vehicle.

The car was spotted on Exmouth St., where police say it almost caused a head-on crash.

As an on-duty officer pulled over the vehicle, it mounted the curb before coming to a stop.

Police say a search of the vehicle revealed 2 g of suspected heroin, a small brick of suspected heroin that weighed 10.5 g, 0.7 g of suspected methamphetamine, 135 g of suspected cannabis marijuana, 15 g of suspected cocaine, a vial of cannabis oil, a quantity of unknown pills, and approximately $1400 in cash.

The total street value of the drugs seized is approximately $6700.00.

Officers also found a spring loaded 4 inch knife, which is a prohibited weapon.

A 28-year-old Sarnia man is now facing three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, driving while impaired by drugs, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and violating probation.

Police have not released his identity.
