Unique Way To Honour Our Veterans

Branch 62 of the Royal Canadian Legion has come up with a unique way to remember our veterans.

Spokesman Les Jones says they're looking for families or sponsors to take part in their Veteran Banner Program.

It costs $150 for a 24 by 57 in banner that will be displayed on city lamp posts on Christina St. for a six week period around Remembrance Day.

"We have room for 34 of them," says Jones. "On the banner will be a picture, along with his or her name, branch of service, theatre of service and sponsor's name. The Canadian Flag, the legion crest and a poppy will be along the bottom."

After three years, the banners will be returned to the sponsor or family. $10 from each sale will help homeless veterans.

Contact the Sarnia Legion if you're interested.
