Michigan Man Charged After Truck Collides With Motorcycle

A Michigan man is charged after a collision in Lambton Shores, that sent two Grand Bend residents to hospital with serious injuries.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on September 24 shortly before 11am, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading south on Lakeshore Rd., when it collided with a pickup truck that was exiting Pinery Provincial Park. The two people on the motorcycle were ejected during the crash.

The motorcycle operator, Brian Blackburn, suffered "significant injuries," while the passenger, Heather Blackburn, suffered "severe injuries" and was airlifted to hospital.  Heather's condition was later downgraded to serious but stable.

Police later charged the driver of the pickup truck, 64-year-old Robert Vargo of Michigan, with failing to yield to traffic.
