The province's Special Investigations Unit has cleared Sarnia police of any wrongdoing in an incident reported to them in late July.
On June 18, 2017, a 67-year-old woman called 911, saying she was thinking of committing suicide.
Lambton EMS and two police officers went to her residence and she was taken by ambulance to hospital and admitted.
Once she was in the ambulance, police left the scene and did not go to the hospital.
The woman was complaining of chest pains, but no other injuries.
X-rays subsequently showed she had a back injury.
Based on the evidence, the SIU says it is clear that the back injury was not a result of her interaction with any police officer and the investigation has been terminated.
The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
