Hundreds are expected to gather in downtown Sarnia for the 24th annual Take Back the Night walk.
Sexual Assault Centre Executive Director Michelle Batty says its a symbolic statement of the commitment to stop the the tide of violence against women and children.
"Our Take Back the Night walks have really grown over the years and we're so please with the support from our community," says Batty. "Men are also welcome to attend and specifically tonight our guest speakers will focus on our male allies."
Batty says last year about 500 women and men, received some type of assistance or counselling from the Sexual Assault Survivors Centre.
Thursday night's event gets underway at 7pm at the Peace Court at Christina and Lochiel streets.
