Local Biohybrid Chemistry Cluster On Display

Sarnia-Lambton's global advancement as a Biohybrid Chemistry Cluster will be showcased this fall.

PetroChem Canada 2017 will be hosted at Pt. Edward's Holiday Inn September 27 and 28.

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Development Coordinator Matthew Slotwinski expects over 200 delegates from the petrochemical industry to attend.

"It's the second time this conference will be held," said Slotwinski. "It's good for connecting industry to inform of the national petrochemical strategy. It's going to bring together delegates from across the country and across the world. There's going to be over 50 speakers, as well as many panel discussions and keynotes."

Bio-chemical and bio-hybrid opportunities for Canada, how to develop the Canadian petrochemical strategy to enhance competitiveness, global trends and current or proposed petrochemical projects will be discussed.

Slotwinski says the impacts of Cap and Trade, Carbon Tax, Climate Change Policies and the Trump Administration will also be examined.

He says the event was a huge success last year in Edmonton and they're hoping to replicate that success and build on it this year.
