Nominations are now being accepted for the Patients' Choice Awards, given annually to physicians that go above and beyond in healthcare.
Sarnia-Lambton residents can nominate their favourite doctor for the honour.
The awards are sponsored by Bluewater Health, the Patients' Association of Canada and the Ontario Medical Association.
Bluewater Health spokesperson Julia Oosterman says there are a lot of great local physicians.
"Being a physician is certainly, I think, one of those incredibly special callings in life," says Oosterman. "We in Sarnia-Lambton are so blessed to have so many best-in-class physicians right here. Whether it's in palliative , stroke or orthopedic care, we have so many great physicians here in Sarnia. People often feel they need to go to London or Windsor but the care we're getting in Sarnia is top notch and it's nice to see that so many of our physicians have received awards in the past."
Patients are asked to write a brief story highlighting their positive experience with their physician online at www.patientscanada.ca/sarnia2017.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 11.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of patients, and winners will be announced September 28.
