West Nile virus continues to be present in Lambton County this summer.
Lambton Public Health says mosquitoes collected from a trap in Wyoming on August 22 tested positive for the virus.
It's the third positive finding in the county after a mosquito pool in Petrolia and a dead crow in Sarnia tested positive in July.
West Nile virus is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito, although less than 1% of those infected become seriously ill.
No one has tested positive for West Nile in Lambton County, but there have been two human cases in Ontario this year.
We're reminded to reduce our risk of contracting the virus by reducing breeding areas and standing water around the home and reporting dead birds.
