The poisonous Giant Hogweed plant has taken root in Lambton County.
Lambton Public Health's Lori Lucas says because of possible health effects, residents should remove the plant from their property as soon as possible.
She says you need to be careful and avoid getting the sap on your skin.
"The sap can cause a reaction that makes the skin sensitive to sunlight and reactions can happen up to 48 hours after contact so you can get painful blisters and burns," says Lucas.
"The blisters can lead to purple and black scars and contact with the eyes can cause temporary and sometimes permanent blindness."
