Police Looking For Suspect In Bogus Bills Investigation

Sarnia police are looking for a man who allegedly used fake currency to buy food at an Exmouth St. coffee shop.

Around 5pm on June 22, police say the suspect paid with a suspected counterfeit American $20 bill.

He's described as a young white male, with a slim build and light facial hair. He was wearing burgundy pants with a hanging belt, a black and white t-shirt, black baseball cap, and a spiked wristband.

Sarnia police are reminding retailers that they don't have to accept suspected counterfeit currency and they can simply ask for another note. Tips on how to detect counterfeit currency can be found on the Bank of Canada Website.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.
