35-Year Tradition Continues At Bright's Grove Saturday

The Bright's Grove Optimists are once again hosting Canada Day festivities on Saturday.

The parade begins at 11am at Wildwood Park and children of all ages are invited to participate by decorating their bikes or dogs.

Activities begin at Kenwick Park at noon.

Optimist Club spokesman Ben Turner says there will be entertainment, kids activities and carnival rides.

"A lot of times people get busy on July 1 and are stretched for time to go to one event or the other," says Turner. "We like to leave it open and have as many people as possible come out and celebrate it in our own way in Bright's Grove."

The evening wraps with music by Kira-Jade and Pain Killer Jane beginning at 7pm and there will be a beer tent for the adults.
