Lambton OPP responded to a disturbance at the Grand Bend bylaw office just before noon Wednesday.
Police say a man disputing a $35 parking ticket became irate, and allegedly threatened and assaulted the bylaw officer.
The 60-year-old man is charged with assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
He's scheduled to appear in Sarnia court July 31 to answer to the charges.
