The kitchen of a detached home in Port Lambton was extensively damaged by fire Thursday morning. The Port Lambton and Becher fire departments responded to Queen St. at around 10:30am. St. Clair Township Deputy Fire Chief Steve Bicum says no one was home at the time. A neighbour who noticed smoke coming from the structure was able to get the family dog out safely. Damage hasn't been estimated yet and the cause is being investigated.
