Bluewater Power plans to launch its new website this week, featuring a real-time outage map. CEO Janice McMichael-Dennis says customers will be able to access it for up-to-date information on current outages. "You can actually zoom in, look at your street and be able to determine if your home or business is out of power," says McMichael-Dennis. "There will also be an automated phone response, where as long as you associated your current phone number with your account, the system will automatically tell you whether that address is also currently with or without power." Information on outages will still be communicated via social media on facebook and Twitter and the old fashioned way over the phone. The utility's website is www.bluewaterpower.com
