A nine-week strike at Canadian Hearing Society offices across Ontario, including the East. St. location in Sarnia, could soon be over.
A total of 227 workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), have reached a tentative agreement with their employer.
Contract details are being withheld until the results of ratification votes scheduled for Friday are known.
Just a week ago on May 1, local unions held a rally on East St. in support of CUPE Local 2073 members who have been without a contract for four years.
One of two local workers, Audiologist Lauren Steckle, expressed hope an agreement would be reached so they could get back to their clients.
