Olympic Effort At Kids Help Phone Walk

Sunday's Walk So Kids Can Talk in Sarnia hit new heights when Olympic high jump champion Derek Drouin made a surprise appearance.

Cold northerly winds didn't stop some 200 people from joining the gold medallist from Corunna at the event at Canatara Park.

CHOK Radio's Tony Frangis also walked 5 km, helping raise over $30,000 for the Kids Help Phone that has offered support to youth for over 27 years.

By calling 1-800-668-6868, youth can speak confidentially to a counsellor about any number of issues including bullying, dating, sexual orientation, violence and abuse.
