Even though Mother Nature has not been cooperating, the competition is starting to heat up on day four of the Bluewater Anglers' Salmon Derby. There were two new leaders in the Salmon category Monday.
Jean Mevnier of Wyoming entered a 13.16 lb. Salmon in Sarnia around 2pm only to be bumped four hours later by Robert Perkins of London who entered a 15.38 lb. Salmon in Port Franks.
In total, there are seven new fish on the leaderboard... #1, #2, #4, #7 & #8 Salmon, #3 Walleye and #5 Trout-Shore Rainbow Trout.
The unofficial Salmon Derby leaders are .. - Robert Perkins of London in the Salmon category with a 15.38 lb. salmon. - Maldon Armstrong of Grand Bend in the Trout - Boat category with a 6.30 lb. rainbow trout. - Tyler Pavli of Sarnia in the Trout - Shore category with a 14.56 lb. Brown Trout. - Dave Boon of Corunna in the Lake Trout category with a 18.86 lb. lake trout. - Clayton Rennie of Sarnia in the Walleye category with a 8.94 lb. walleye.
The Daily Big Fish winner is Robert Perkins with his 15.38 lb. Salmon.
The Daily Draw Prize winners are ... - Randy Core of Wyoming at the Port Franks weigh station, and - Cody Spinks of Sarnia at the Sarnia weigh station.
There were 22 fish entered at the Sarnia weigh station and 20 fish entered at the Port Franks weigh station for a four day Salmon Derby total of 247 fish.
