The Lambton County Science Fair begins Friday at Lambton College.
It's given young scientists a chance to shine for over 50 years now.
Organizer Peter Smith says about 100 students will display 75 projects
"The schools use to hold science fairs at one time and they don't anymore," says Smith. "The curriculum has pushed them to the position where they don't have the time for them anymore. So really the only opportunity for students these days is to get into the Lambton County Science Fair."
Smith says a lot of science fairs across Ontario have been lost, due to lack of funding.
The fair runs from 6pm-9pm Friday and 9am-12pm on Saturday.
Five students from Grades 7 through 12 will advance to the Canada Wide Science Fair.
