Wyoming's TD Canada Trust bank is slated for closure this July.
Mayor Lonny Napper says the Broadway St. bank has been a staple in the community for decades.
He says TD has closed banks in a number of small towns in recent years, partly due to the increased popularity of online banking.
"The bank has been there for so long as was a big part of the downtown business," says Napper. "It closing will be a hardship for a lot of people."
With the impending closure of TD, the new Southwest Regional Credit Union will be the only financial institution in the town.
Napper says town officials are meeting with TD representatives this week in hopes of reversing the decision.
He says there's a possibility of attracting a new bank to the site in the future.
