Spitfires Lose 5-3 To Sting

The Sarnia Sting scored a 5-3 win over the Windsor Spitfires at Progressive Auto Sales Arena on Friday.

After no scoring in the first period, Jeff King kicked things off with a goal for Sarnia 9:32 into the second. Windsor tied things up thanks to a goal by Graham Knott who scored late in the second, but Jaden Lindo scored to give Sarnia back the lead.  Hayden McCool scored in the last 11 seconds of the frame to tie the game 2-2 going into the third.

Gabriel Vilardi scored to give the Spitfires the lead 20 seconds into the final 20 minutes, but Drake Rymsha and Adam Ruzicka scored back-to-back goals to give Sarnia a 4-3 advantage.  Rymsha scored his second of the night with under two minutes left in the game to ensure Sarnia's win.

Sarnia also outshot Windsor 36-23.

The Sting are on home ice on Sunday to take on the Owen Sound Attack at 2:05pm.Also on Sunday at 2:05pm, the Spitfires are set to take on the Flint Firebirds at the WFCU Centre.
