Police Investigate Pipeline Scanning Equipment Theft

Sarnia police are investigating the theft of a piece of pipeline scanning equipment from a locked company truck parked in a residential driveway.

Police were called at about 7:40am Monday to the 200-block of Twin Lakes Dr. and were told that someone had gone through two vehicles.

An OmniScan SX Phased Array Probe was reported stolen, along with other gauges and probes. The OmniScan is used to perform ultrasound and x-ray tests on pipelines.

Nothing was taken from the other vehicle.

The value of the stolen equipment is believed to be in the thousands of dollars.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.
