Legionnaires On The Ropes After Loss In Leamington

The Sarnia Legionnaires are facing elimination following a 4-2 loss in Leamington Sunday night.

Despite outshooting the Flyers, Sarnia was trailing 4-0 through 40 minutes until Derrick Johnson and Brett Storr found the scoreboard in the third period.

Head Coach Mark Davis says they played well enough to win.

"We outshot them, we just can't scored. We took some bad penalties and they capitalized," says Davis. "They've been getting the bounces all three games, the breaks are going their way, and we need to find a way to get some breaks. The only way you can do that is by working hard."

Trailing the series three games to none, The Legionnaires are in a must win situation when they host Leamington Tuesday night.

Davis says they'll do what they can to extend the series.

"It ain't over yet, the fourth game is the hardest to win. It's frustrating because we shouldn't be down 3-0, we could easily be up in this series but that's not the way things have gone," he says.

Game four of the series will be live on CHOK, beginning at 7:05pm Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere Sunday night, LaSalle beat Strathroy 4-3 to take a 3-0 series lead over the Rockets. Chatham is also up 3-0 on St Thomas following a 7-1 win.
