Four Arrested, Vehicles Damaged In Major Drug Bust

A lengthy drug trafficking investigation by the Sarnia Police Vice Unit led to the arrest of four people and the seizure of a substantial amount of cocaine.

Around 6pm on Thursday, police allege a 33-year-old Mississauga man tried to flee by driving backwards on the wrong side of the road on on Pine St., but crashed into a parked car, causing significant damage to both vehicles. He and his 45-year-old female passenger, also from Mississauga, were taken into custody.

A 46-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, both of Sarnia, were also arrested near the scene of the crash, but the woman was later released unconditionally.

Police say an unspecified quantity of cocaine and cell phones were seized from the vehicle as well as cash from the Sarnia man.

The three people remaining in police custody are charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine. The man and woman from the vehicle are also charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and the male driver faces additional charges of dangerous driving, and possession of marijuana under 30 g.

No police officers or civilians were injured in the incident.
