Residents Struggle With Intruder On Tashmoo Ave.

A 24-year-old man is facing charges after a man forced his way into a home in the 1000-block of Tashmoo Ave. Friday afternoon and struggled with the residents.

At around 2:30pm, a couple observed a man run up the driveway to the side door and try to force his way inside. The man took a run at the door, causing it to splinter as the residents tried to hold it closed.

Once inside, police say the 73-year-old male resident attempted to restrain the intruder with help from his wife, but he continued to flail violently and fight.

A guest in the home called 911.

Police and paramedics arrived and say the man, believed to be under the influence of something, continued to fight with officers. He was eventually brought under control.

A woman in the home was injured in the incident and taken to hospital for observation, but has since been released.

Terrance Nahmabin, 24, is now charged with break and enter, two counts of assault, resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with recognizance, and six counts of breach of probation.

He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
