Preferred Towing To Make Its Television Debut

Some local tow truck operators are set to make their national TV debuts with the premier of Heavy Rescue: 401.

The show features the folks at Preferred Towing, and highlights their work during the first few months of 2016.

Co-owner Tammy Vandenheuvel says they're hosting a screening party at BrownStones for the premier on Tuesday, starting at 8pm. She says proceeds of the event will support homeless young people in the community.

"We figured we would make this into a bigger event, do a fundraiser for the homelessness initiative for youth," says Vandenheuvel. "Tickets are $25 and there will be 50/50 draw and the proceeds form that will go directly to the Hub, which Rebound is connected with."

Vandenheuvel says the show gives the viewer a look into the dangers of being a tow truck operator.

She says film crews will return in the new year to film the second season of the show.

The nine episode series will air Tuesdays at 10pm on the Discovery Channel.
