Sarnia police have arrested a man, and are looking for another, after a woman's purse was stolen out of her cart in the Northgate Plaza.

Around 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon, police say the 69-year-old woman was heading to her vehicle when two men on bikes grabbed her purse and fled northbound towards Colborne Rd.

An officer found a 20-year-old suspect in the area of Rosedale Ave. and Ellwood Ave. He was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, a 6 inch fillet knife, and two counts of breach of probation.

He is being held pending a bail heading.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the second suspect is asked to call Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.
