Special Mall Hours For Special Needs Individuals

Lambton Mall continues to break new ground for those with psychological or physical challenges.

Marketing Director Shauna Lupaschuk says they're hosting a special needs shopping event on December 11. It's believed to be the first of its kind in Ontario.

"What we're planning to do that Sunday from 5pm until 6pm, after the mall closes at 5pm, we will reopen for one hour only for people with special needs," she says. "That means the Christmas lights will be turned off, the music will be off. It will be a very calm and relaxing environment for people with special needs to do their Christmas shopping."

Lambton Mall's Silent Santa program, which won the City of Sarnia's Exceptional Physical Accessibility Award, will run from December 5 -11 before the Mall opens.

It allows guests with autism, sensory processing or physical challenges to visit Santa without the distractions of large crowds, mall music or Christmas lights.

Appointments must be booked by calling Guest Services at 519-542-7784 ext.226
