The County of Lambton has hired a new corporate cultural officer.
Andrew Meyer comes to Lambton from Strathroy-Caradoc where he's served as director of community and cultural services for the past five years.
He started his new job Monday.
Warden Bev MacDougall says after the retirement of Robert Tremain in January, GM of finance, facilities and court services John Innes recommended some changes to the cultural services department.
"We're really looking at this corporate position as a position that's going to be taking the lead in implementing some plans that we took time to do for the museum, for the library modernization project and we're really, really keen to have Andrew join the county team out here," says MacDougall.
Meyer will provide leadership and oversee service delivery at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, Lambton Heritage Museum, Lambton County Archives, the library system and the Oil Museum of Canada.
