It appears a new record high temperature was set in Sarnia.
According to Environment Canada, the temperature rose to 20.3 C on Friday. The previous record for November 18 was 20 C set in 1971.
The unusually mild fall season, however, is about to come to an abrupt end.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for north and east Lambton County Friday, saying that off lake snow squalls are expected to develop over the weekend.
A vigorous cold front will sweep through southern Ontario Saturday.
Strong northwest winds will allow colder air to invade the area with snow squalls likely to organize starting Saturday night and continuing into Sunday.
Snowfall amounts of 5-10 cm are possible with local amounts near 15 cm (6 in) by Sunday evening.
Environment Canada says it will monitor the situation closely as driving conditions are likely to be impacted due to poor visibilities in local snow and blowing snow.
