Alvinston To Host Teeny Tiny Conference

About 150 municipal officials and small-town advocates from across Ontario will attend the Teeny Tiny Southwest Summit Tuesday in Alvinston.

Two speakers from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan who helped reinvigorate their community known for its network of underground tunnels will also attend the one day evening.

Alvinston Mayor Don McGugan says small communities have a lot to offer.

"Quality of life, lower taxes, safety and sense of community," says McGugan. "We have a really great group of volunteers called the Alvinston Community Group and they've spearheaded this meeting, along with the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs."

McGugan says he's also been working with OMAFRA to develop a strategic plan for the community.
